In April, the Celje Youth Centre began implementing the second phase of youth workshops—this time led by young people who had previously participated in workshops on the BIB methodology under the guidance of trainers, and carried out in close cooperation with trainers and youth workers. This time, we are sharing highlights from two workshops held in Dravograd.

At the two workshops, which took place on 14 April and 17 April, 13 pupils from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades took part. Through various activities, they explored their emotions, reflected on their well-being, and learned how they themselves can contribute to a more positive group atmosphere.

During the first workshop, pupils developed emotional literacy and imagination by drawing symbols representing their feelings and writing stories. Each participant received a symbol created by a classmate, which then became the basis for a short story centred on the key question: how can we maintain good well-being or improve it when it is poor? The workshop concluded with a discussion about what participants had learned and felt.

The second workshop focused on group dynamics and positive communication. Pupils created a “Treasury of Good Moments,” searched for emotions around the classroom and described them through imaginative metaphors, and concluded the workshop with the heartfelt activity “Secret Friend,” in which they wrote encouraging messages to one another.

Both sessions encouraged reflection on emotions, personal well-being, and interpersonal relationships. Through play, creativity, and conversation, children built important social and emotional skills that will stay with them for a long time.
